Description
by OJH, Hogarth, & John Celardo – The long running Tarzan newspaper comic strip featured various Amazons from time to time. Burne Hogarth was probably the first artist to render them with muscles to rival the best Circus Acrobats & Trapeze artist of those times(1940’s) Then in the 1950’s Celardo had them doing strength feats that put poor Tarzan to shame! Here are those original strips plus the enhanced one’s OJH did and other the expanded stories he made from them. Also included are several other Fighting Women of the Comic Strips like, Modest Blaise, Lil Abner’s Amazons, & Female Russian Wrestlers, The Strong Woman from Barker Bill, Romeo Brown’s encounter w/ an Amazon, Long Sam & Smilin’ Jack’s many strong and aggressive women! 107 pgs.
