by Douglas Way & E. Stanton – These were originally Peerless Sales fighting folders from the early 1960’s. Each one was a single 11.5 x 17 inch page folded in the middle to make a 4 page story. They sold through the mail for $1.00 each. These two stories were spread out over several folders and had an episodic flavor. Vera starts out as an average housewife who’s husband is taking too much of an interest in a female professional wrestler, so she decides to become one herself to win her husband back and beat the snot out of the prissy blonde he was all hung up on. There is even an epilogue where Vera is attacked by a blonde cat-burglar who turns out to be a man in drag! In the Fran series, a woman saves a man from a knife wielding hussy in an alley. The guy wants to help out the girls at Fan’s athletic club and they help themselves to throwing and pounding him about until Fran again has to rescue him. She meets his rich relatives and that ends up in a donnybrook rumble at a mansion. Finally they marry and Fran’s dominant nature takes over and her new rich hubby is reduced to being her slave & workout dummy/sparing partner. 64 pgs. for only $1.00!!
